It may come from a problem with the water rendering. It appears on any map that has water, including maps that are only water, but I failed to have it on exclusively land maps (such as the demo wall test RM). it still happens when rotating, and it moves in a consistent way, albeit fairly unpredictable. Revealing the map changes strictly nothing. It's especially prominent when zoomed out. Having a bootcamp partition does your gaming experience wonders. AC I,II,Brotherhood, Revelations (haven't bought ACIII yet), Orange Box games (HL2 series), Portal 1 & 2, Trine 1&2 (which I highly recommend checking out if you haven't already), Fifa 11,12,13, NFSMW. 64 fps on Intel HD 4000, 70 on 3000 (low res.) Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain - 41 fps on Intel HD Graphics 4000 (low res. 87 fps on Intel HD 4000, 61 on 3000 (low res.) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - ave. Perfect rectangle, which leads me to think it's some sort of zBuffer problem. And I have been able to run almost every game I've tried to play on my mac. Here's a shortlist of games for the users of HD graphics family devices. It also gets bigger when you move from the left side corner to the far right corner of the map. To be more precise on the problem: it moves much like if it was an object "behind" the map, so it moves on the screen (imagine a starfield moving behind, for example). I did not find it a huge nuisance, but it is there, moving with the camera (though, again, it depends on the zoom …) But not permanently, it appears/disappears when moving/zoominh, on every version since Alpha 8. I get this one too, on a MacBook Air 13" (last generation iirc).
